Summer Concerts In Portland

A picture I found on the internet

I decided to make this post about a few concerts I will be attending this summer. Although a couple won’t be in Portland I would like to shed light on the ones that will be that you should definitely check out this summer. Anderson .Paak will be in Portland on June 22nd. I am so excited for this concert! In one of my previous posts I put an Anderson .Paak song so you guys might be a little familiar with his name. I expect to dance my butt of at this show! Now if you’re into slower music, Cuco will be performing in Portland July 18th and 19th. The way to describe Cuco’s music would be Alternative/Indie. He has an amazing voice so seeing him live will not be a disappointment. Now for one of the biggest shows that I am the most excited about is the Pro Era and Flatbush Zombies concert on July 27th. This concert is going to be so crazy! If you’re not used to going to shows with mosh pits I suggest you stay in the back for this concert. I’ve seen Flatbush Zombies twice and they never fail to put on an amazing action packed show. I can tell you the energy at this show will be breath taking if you’re into psychedelic Hip Hop. The last show that I will be attending this summer, but will be in Seattle is the $uicideboy$. The lineup for this concert is out of this world I never imagined a show where everyone I’ve always wanted to see and experience live would be touring together. This show will include Night Lovell, Germ, Shorline Mafia, Trash Talk, and City Morgue. So just imagine how I explained the Flatbush Zombie’s concert but lets say 20 times more intense. This show would fall under the category Rap Metal. What I am expecting from this show is pure crazy energy. I’m still trying to figure out where I want to stand at this show, but I am excited as hell. This show will be held at the WAMU Theater in Seattle, Washington on July 24th. Down below I posted in a YouTube playlist my favorite songs by all these artists I plan on seeing this summer to give you an idea of what each show will be like. Will you guys be attending any concerts this summer?

Artist Of The Week: Kali Uchis

This week I wanted to dedicate a post to one of the most talented female artists, Kali Uchis. Kali Uchis is a Colombian-American singer and songwriter. I wanted to give her recognition because she just finished the last leg of her The Kali and Jorja Tour, which I hope means that she will start working on new music soon. When I first found out about Uchis she was plying the smallest venues and even indoor skate parks. This last tour she went on she sold out some of the biggest venues in America. Let me just start off by saying she deserves every bit of fame she is getting, and I am so proud! If you are into R&B and pop music and would like to check out some of her music she has her mixtape that she came out with in 2012 Drunken Babble, an EP she dropped in 2015 Por Vida, and her debut studio album that came out in 2018 Isolation. On Isolation she actaully features some amazing acts like Steve Lacy, Gorillaz, Vince Staples, Jorja Smith, and Tyler The Creator. All those pieces of work that she has made I treasure so much because they all bring back some form of nostalgia and in a good way. Down below I linked one of her music videos from her latest album Isolation, and a Spotify playlist with a bunch of her songs. Check out her music and let me know what you think. You will not be disappointed! 🙂

IGOR

If you’re involved in the music industry I’m sure you’ve heard that Tyler, The Creator just dropped a new album named IGOR last week. First off let me tell you how much Tyler has evolved musically wise. Every album he has dropped since Goblin has gotten better and better to me personally. He does more singing than rapping now and I love when artists do something different, especially when it works out. This album is filled with Tyler’s most danceable songs to date. The album features elements of jazz, funk, and even gospel. If you’re into Pharrell sounding type of music I believe this album is for you. It also has some really great feature including Playboi Carti, Charlie Wilson, Kanye West, and Lil Uzi Vert. If you want some new music to listen to my favorite songs off this album are EARFQUAKE, I THINK, RUNNING OUT OF TIME, NEW MAGIG WAND, WHAT’S GOOD. Up there is one of his newest music videos for the song EARFQUAKE. Also feel free to share any new music you’re into or any music that just came out that you think I should listen to.

Chris Travis

Chris Travis is one of my favorite rappers for many reasons. His style and also the fact that his music is so different from any other rappers I have ever heard. I believe its what makes him unique. Another thing is that he is such a huge inspiration to me because this dude puts out sooo much music and it amazes me how many projects and singles he has out because like who can come up with so many songs. I sit and think about how every song is different from the next whether it be the lyrics, his flow, or the beats. I just think its amazing how someones mind can produce so much content because I have trouble just coming up with one thing to post. Chris Travis is still considered underground because he doesn’t have a big following but I believe one day he will be the greatest rapper anyone’s ever heard of. Here is a picture of one of Chris Travis and also one of my favorite music videos by him. Enjoy!
